The Miss Universe organization and Uni Corp., the host of Miss Universe 2008 in Nha Trang, held a meeting Monday with the local media at Ho Chi Minh City’s Legend Hotel.
At the meeting, organizers’ public relations department briefed several guiding operation principles for reporters to follow during the month when the competition will take place.
According to organizers, the 57th Miss Universe Pageant will attract more than one third of media agencies in the world in Vietnam this summer.
US-based NBC Universal holds the exclusive rights to air the competition, set to take place at the Crown Convention Center at Diamond Bay in Nha Trang Town of Khanh Hoa Province.
The organizers are currently in negotiations with Vietnamese television outlets VTV, HTV, and Khanh Hoa Television to decide the fees for local broadcasting.
Form March 5 - 20, a delegation from the Miss Universe organization is reviewing key event sites, hotel accommodations, and security and transportation conditions in the three hosting cities including HCMC, Hanoi, and Nha Trang.
The members are also conducting an analysis of the construction progress of the Crown Convention Center and the Press Center that will serve the domestic and international media.
